Favorite Blowout Products

Blowdrying your hair is daunting... Here are 2 of my favorite products to make your blowdry easier, last longer & look great :)

* I have highlighted, course hair so these products work best for me :)

• PUREOLOGY 21 COLOUR FANATIC •
http://m.pureology.com/systems/colour-fanatic-hair-treatment-spray

This spray is awesome... It does the job of "21" products in 1! It is a detangler, leave-in conditioner, heat protectant, miracle worker :)

• AVEDA BRILLIANT ANTI-HUMECTANT POMADE •

http://www.aveda.com/product/5222/16395/Collections/BrilliantTM/Brilliant-Anti-Humectant-Pomade/index.tmpl

Be careful with this jar of heaven... It's super dense, so you only need a tiny bit each time you apply it. One tub has lasted me for over a year... Run a tiny bit through your ends, starting underneath your hair, then finish smoothing the top of yourr hair last to avoid looking oily. It magically tames fly aways & leaves your hair looking healthy & shiny!

Happy Hair Day!

A fun movie for all of us Moms :)

Last night after the kiddos got snuggled in bed & Joe declared that he MUST watch the new Hobbit Movie, I scrolled through my OnDemand movies and came across this free movie:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3014666/

From the m o m e n t this movie started, I could totally relate to it & knew all of my mommy friends would as well.  I had never heard of the movie and the reviews were inconsistent, but I am so glad I decided to watch it.

It was about a married, stay-at-home, mom of 3.  She was trying to start a blog (AMEN) and only had 3 followers.   She was tired and was constantly on the go. Then she decided she needed a Moms' Night Out and so the fun began....

The movie was so cute.  Had some funny moments, and some silly moments, but overall it totally hit home.  All of us moms, regardless of working or not, 2 kids or 5 kids, are tired.  And everyday we hit roadblocks and feel like failures... but we are ALL doing our very best and LOVE our kids fiercely, which in the end is all that matters :)

Whip it Up - Sausage & Egg Casserole style

A few years ago my Aunt Michelle shared this recipe with me & it has been a brunch/breakfast staple ever since…

it is the perfect recipe to take to any party/work breakfast/potluck :)

Enjoy!

Spinach & Egg Breakfast Casserole

•1 box/bag seasoned croutons
•1 pound Bob Evans sausage roll-original - (they now sell cook, chopped turkey sausage that is perfect for this recipe)
•4 eggs
•2 1/4 cups milk
•1 can cream of mushroom soup, condensed (I have subbed cream of cheddar cheese OR cream of potato)
•10oz frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
•8oz bag shredded cheese (cheddar-jack)

Spread croutons on the bottom of a greased 13x9 inch baking dish. Crumble sausage into small pieces in a skillet  - cook and drain (or use pre-crumbled and skip this step!) Spread over croutons.  Whisk eggs and milk together then add soup, cheeses, and spinach. Pour egg mixture over sausage and croutons.  Cover and refrigerate overnight.  Bake on 325 for 50-55 min or until set and lightly browned on top.

Busy Beavers

So it's been a few days since our last blog post and I just wanted to catch everyone up to date on some fun things that have been going on:)

  • Jami's Launch Party... last week Jami had her first party for Adornable.U.  So MUCH awesome jewelry.  We are really so pumped to be able to start sharing all of these jewels with you.  The idea behind the company is very sweet too and empowering to those of us as women.  Come to a party to find out why??
  • There is a new fundraiser in the works for Brielle!  Sounds amazing... it will be on April 18th from 1-5 so mark your calendars.  Details to come.... Love supporting my baby girl and pediatric cancer research.... There are truly so many amazing supportive caring loving people out there and I am blessed to know so many of them!
  • I just finalized the dates for Brielle's Make-A-Wish Disney trip!! I cannot wait until the reveal party to share it all with her!  She is going to be so PUMPED! Make-A-Wish is an amazing organization and they really do everything and anything possible to make dreams come true.  We are blessed and honored to be a part of it.
  • Since we booked our Make-A-Wish Disney trip... I HAVE to get serious on the Isagenix front.  I am hoping to lose 20 pounds between now and April 20th.  Today and tomorrow I am cleansing and feeling pretty good! I needed a mental and physical reset :)  Let me know if you are interested in the program... you will love it and it works!
  • Last night, I registered for the Rock and Roll Philadelphia Half Marathon!  This will be my first one ever and I have to say I'm super nervous and excited.  It's far enough away though that I'm not too overwhelmed YET.... It's on Halloween this year! I am running with two other amazing Cancer Moms and cannot wait to share this experience with them.  We will laugh, run, cry and drink champagne to toast our kiddos at the end..... We will be raising money along the way to support pediatric cancer research.  If you are looking for a good goal for yourself for a great cause, join us!!  http://runrocknroll.competitor.com/philadelphia
  • Lastly, I was dealing with alot of stress the past couple days... some of it that was totally unnecessary and I made a pact with myself that I will not let anyone bring me down or add anymore to my already full plate. I woke up today feeling refreshed and in a much better place.  There is no better feeling then getting rid of negativity from your life :)

#whipitupwednesday - Every Guys (&Girls) Favorite Garlic Ranch Pretzels

Today's #whipitupwednesday is a super quick & super easy recipe for Garlic Ranch Pretzel Bites.  They take no time at all and are usually my go-to for any party, especially a guys event like a ball game or summer BBQ... ENJOY :)

Garlic Ranch Seasoned Pretzels

  • 1 cup vegetable or canola oil
  • 1 envelope dry Hidden Valley Ranch dip
  • 2 tbsp of chopped/minced garlic from jar or fresh
  • 1 tsp of cayenne pepper
  • 1 bag Herrs pretzel nuggets
1.  Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
2.  In a large mixing bowl, whisk ranch dip mix, garlic, cayenne pepper and oil. Add pretzels and mix well to coat evenly.
3.  Place the pretzels on two separate rimmed baking sheets (disposable deep dish casserole pans work great, too!), Be sure to spread them out in a single layer.
4.  Bake pretzels for about 10-12 minutes, stirring every 3 minutes.
5.  Continue to stir every 5 minutes as they cool - the more you stir - the better!

Skin so smoooooooth

I've recently gotten several comments about my skin looking smooth and clear :)  So as I was slapping my face together this morning to run out the door to drop Brielle off for school, I thought why don't I share with everyone what I use. Here are the products from Loreal and Aveeno (nothing  fancy) that I use every day, superfast in the morning whether I am showered, not showered, going out somewhere fancy or just running to drop Breeski off to school this is what I use and I hope that you will try it out too!  Jami introduced me to the Aveeno tinted moisturizer that I'm obsessed with and I just discovered the powder a month or so ago and I'm hooked. There's a shinier powder (the glow) that goes on cheekbones or wherever for days that I'm feeling fancy lol #shareyoursecrets
